Policy Analyst
Heine Paus’ main interests are international humanitarian law (law of armed conflict) and international human rights law, but he also has a broad interest in international law more generally. He has an educational background in law and psychology and is currently a final year law student at the University of Oslo, where he writes his thesis on the international legal protections against sexual violence in non-international armed conflicts. He also has a professional background in journalism, policy analysis and various humanitarian contexts. He is a former journalist with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), where he worked mainly as a foreign affairs journalist (reporter, presenter, commentator and foreign duty editor) and as a reporter for NRK’s flagship radio news programme Dagsnytt, a former Executive Director of the feminist radio station radiOrakel, and has worked with several humanitarian organisations, including as a teacher of international humanitarian law.
